Around a pool, the finish matters as much as the pour. We use broom, knockdown and textured finishes, plus stamped patterns when you want the high-end look — so the surface grips when it's wet and doesn't turn into a griddle in the afternoon sun.

A pool deck takes more abuse than any other slab on the property: standing water, chlorine and salt, sunscreen, and full sun all day. We slope it away from the pool and the house so it drains fast and doesn't stay slick, base and reinforce it for Florida's sandy soil, and place the joints so it moves without cracking across the deck.
Then we seal it, which locks in the color and protects against UV fade and pool chemicals. If your existing deck is basically sound but tired, we can often clean, repair and reseal it instead of replacing — ask us on the resurfacing page.

Does concrete get too hot around a pool?
Color and texture decide that. Lighter integral colors stay much cooler underfoot than dark ones, and a broom or textured stamp keeps it from baking. We'll steer you toward a shade that's comfortable barefoot in full sun.
Is it slippery when it's wet?
Not if it's finished right. We use non-slip broom and textured finishes and slope the deck so water sheds instead of pooling. For stamped decks we choose textures that still grip wet.
Can you resurface my old pool deck instead of replacing it?
